PREPARE FOR SPRING THE AYURVEDIC WAY

homemade buttermilk

Are you getting yourself ready to deal with the coming of the spring? If not, then you should start NOW!!! And if you don't know why or how then this article is for you!

March is the month where we tend to feel extra heaviness...the excess of the winter makes everybody tired and we cannot wait to enjoy the sun. This is absolutely normal.

So add some spices to your food, avoid eating refined sugars, sweets and drink BUTTERMILK in the morning.

Ayurveda uses buttermilk both to maintain health and to treat diseases. Buttermilk is easy to digest, has astringent and sour tastes and is hot in nature. It improves digestion and mitigates kapha and vata. Perfect for this time of the year.

HOW TO PREPARE BUTTERMILK

Ingredients : 1/4 cup fresh plain yogurt 3/4 cold water 1 pinch rock salt 1 pinch Cumin powder and coriander leaf

Blend the yogurt for (3 to 4)minutes.

Add the cold water and blend again for another (3 to 4)minutes

Discard the fatty foam on top

Add the salt and the spices and stir by hand

Drink at room temperature and enjoy!
