Kate Touchton-Leonard

Maternal Mental Health and Developmental Psychology Expert

With over ten years of experience. Kate holds a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University, NY, has advanced certification in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International (PSI), and is a Jordan coordinator for PSI with areas of expertise in Attachment Theory and child development. 


Kate is the Founder and Director of MamaWise, an organization that offers evidence-based resources and courses with demonstrable efficacy in support of families during the perinatal period, whether it is for their first or fourth child. In partnership with Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, MamaWise is currently offering its Mothers and Babies program in Amman, Jordan. This course supplies concrete strategies to help mothers manage life’s stressors, regulate mood, and foster secure attachment with infants and young children while considering cultural norms and relevance.


In addition to her work with MamaWise, Kate is a consultant Maternal Wellness Specialist at Abdali Hospital, member of the Clemenceau Network, Amman, Jordan. 


Kate lives in Amman, Jordan, with her husband and three young children.
